Press Release Wellsville

The Huskies were back in action Thursday night at Wellsville.  It was a hot one, but once again the Huskies came prepared to run.  They brought home more hardware nabbing 5 medals with one being first place for a division, as well as a team victory!

The 7th grade girls were led by Sydney Hammet who again brought home the gold!  She was the lone medalist.  Fernanda Martinez finished in 31st position.  She was followed by teammates Kaylynn Melton in 36th, Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 51st, Abbi Everman in 57th, Maddy Riggs in 60th, Morgan Brewer in 67th, Ale Perez in 76th, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 80th, and Karishma Campos in 83rd.  The girls finished in 6th place as a team.

For the 7th grade boys Hector Guevara finished in medals at 13th.  He was followed by Jacob Rhoades in 29th, Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez in 33rd, Sergio Velazquez in 35th, Noah Wise in 43rd, Matthew McMillian in 53rd, Dany Vite in 54th, Brady Hilton in 77th, and Trent Howland in 93rd.  The team finished in 5th place.

For the 8th grade girls Angelica Gutierrez finished in 22nd, just narrowly missing a medal.  She was followed by Sarah Mayeske in 28th, and Jennifer Hernandez-Sanchez in 41st.

In the 8th grade boys race there were 3 medalists.  Quenton Walion was 6th followed by Jack Lott in 9th, and Owen Massaro in 10th.  Following them in were Isaac Hopkins in 32nd, Teddy Gilmore in 36th, Grant Misse in 46th, Zach Barnett in 74th, Joey Cepeda in 82nd, Josh Mayfield in 86th, and Jacob Riggs in 90th.  These boys brought home their first championship of the season Thursday night!

The Huskies have a short one day rest and then they will be back in action Saturday at Wyandotte County Park.
