Press release Eudora

The Huskies took to the trail for the last time this season, traveling to Eudora for a bleak, dreary day.  What the runners were about to learn (as all 3 coaches told them) this was PERFECT running weather!  With the "perfect" running conditions, gumption, and the drive to succeed and improve the Huskies charged out today.  The only goal given to them was to go out and have fun (and be sure to run through the mud puddles and not around them)!  In a first of my coaching career (8 years for cross country) an amazing, unprecedented thing happened!  All 14 of the runners ran a best time!  It's the kind of things that may give a coach goosebumps, or even shed a tear or two!  There were also 4 new school records set today, each breaking their own personal best.  JJ Briscoe ran a blazing 11:19.62, Alyssa Farrens ran a 14:32.36, Tate Allen ran a 6:36.41, and Anna Tropansky ran 7:14.57 (also breaking records but getting beaten by a teammate were Elizabeth Guevara and Hanna Thomas)!

Overall finishes:

7th grade girls:  Anna Tropansky 21st, Elizabeth Guevara 23rd, Hanna Thomas 24th, Nayeli Campos 27th, Abbie Thomas 30th
7th grade boys:  Tate Allen 38th, Isaac Chorny 44th, Lathan Clark 45th
8th grade girls:  Alyssa Farrens 22nd, Elizabeth Velez 24th, Charlsie Solano 26th, Nayeli Rodriguez 28th
8th grade boys:  JJ Briscoe 6th, Cooper Crouch 47th

League finishes:

7th grade girls:  Anna Tropansky 16th, Elizabeth Guevara 18th, Hanna Thomas 19th, Nayeli Campos 21st, Abbie Thomas 24th (team finished 3rd)
7th grade boys:  Tate Allen 25th, Isaac Chorny 29th, Lathan Clark 30th
8th grade girls:  Alyssa Farrens 21st, Elizabeth Velez 22nd, Charlsie Solano 24th, Nayeli Rodriguez 26th
8th grade boys:  JJ Briscoe 5th, Cooper Crouch 37th

It has been an honor to work with these amazing athletes, coaches and parents this season.  I want to wish the 8th grade the best of luck on the rest of their year as Huskies and the 7th graders, I hope to see you next year!

We are asking all the runners to please bring their sweats to the meet tomorrow, as well as a change of clothes.  Rather than having to worry about uniforms over Fall Break, we would like them to turn uniforms in after they run tomorrow (hence the change of clothes).  Thanks for everything!

The cross country team traveled across town for their meet Thursday night.  It was a hot one, and like so many other meets have been this season, quite humid.  The Huskies sweat it out and ran some amazing times.  They always aim high and know that if they want to improve they must reach beyond being tired and run with heart!  Tate Allen ran a personal best time and set a new school record for the 7th grade boys at 7:00.78.  JJ Briscoe also snagged his 5th medal of the season, finishing 3rd.

7th grade girls:  Elizabeth Guevara 27th, Anna Tropansky 30th, Hanna Thomas 31st, Nayeli Campos 34th
7th grade boys:  Tate Allen 36th, Isaac Chorny 45th, Lathan Clark 52nd
8th grade girls:  Elizabeth Velez 42nd, Charlsie Solano 46th, Nayeli Rodriguez 49th
8th grade boys:  JJ Briscoe 3rd, Cooper Crouch 51st

The Huskies will wrap up their season next Thursday at Eudora with their invitational and league meet.
The results from tonight's meet can be found at tickertiming.com.  Press release will be posted shortly and times will be put up tomorrow.  Great work tonight Huskies!  Tate Allen broke his own record, running a 7:00.78 mile.  Congrats Tate!

Great news!

Looks like we will be able to run the meet today.  We'll combine the 8th grade race in an effort to beat inclement weather.  Thank you for your patience.

The Huskies went to battle with "Norman", the infamously large hill at the Ottawa course on Saturday, and they fought up that huge hill with mind over matter to finish strong.  This was the toughest course the Huskies will face and they didn't let that stop them from bringing home several medals and a few personal best times!

SPRING HILL RESULTS

The Huskies traveled to Spring Hill for their inaugural meet Thursday night.  It was a well run event, with many highlights for Trail Ridge.  All the Huskies came out and ran with pride, showing grit and determination throughout their races, allowing them to snagged four medals!

JJ Briscoe dazzled again, earning his 3rd medal this season.  This medal was extra special though, as it was the 1st place medal for the 8th grade boys!  Congrats JJ on your first career meet championship!  Not to be left out though, Hanna Thomas ran an outstanding race nabbing the 7th place medal in the 7th grade girls division.  She was closely followed teammates Elizabeth Guevara in 8th place, and Anna Tropansky in 9th place.  Nayeli Campos narrowly missed medals, finishing in 11th place, one out of the medals.  Alyssa Farrens was in a very similar boat, finishing 12th, just 2 places out of medals.  Overall it was an outstanding day with hard work put in and several race plans executed to perfection.
