Eudora and League Information

EMS Cross Country Invitational & Frontier League Meet



When: Thursday, October 6, 2016


Where: Eudora Middle School


Parking: Eudora has a home middle school football game this day and it will be played at the EMS field, so it is going to be a busy area.


Fun run: there will be a 1 mile race at 5:30 for any K-8 non-cross country runners. Other schools are invited to participate. Top 3 boys & 3 girls medal.

7th Grade Boys 4:15 1 Mile
8th Grade Girls 4:30 2 Mile
8th Grade Boys 5:00 2 Mile
Fun Run, K-8 non-XC runners 5:30 1 Mile

All races will run ahead of schedule if possible.


Inclement weather schedule:
7th Grade Girls & Boys 4:00 1 Mile

Fun Run 4:50 1 Mile  (This race could be cancelled if we need to get the 7-8 races done)


Restrooms: Located at the baseball/softball complex or inside EMS using the backside commons door.


Medals for the Invitational: Will be handed out in the chute as runners finish (top 15 in 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B receive medals).


League medals: League medals and ribbons will be presented to the top 10 runners in 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B (top 3 receive medals, 4th-10th receive ribbons).

Press Release PRMS Invitational

The Huskies traveled to Celebration Park on Wednesday evening to take to the course.  It was a perfect day for running, with a cool temperature and slight breeze.  The Huskies toed the line and went to battle.  They brought home 32 new personal records as a team, as well as 2 new school records and not 1, but 2 team champions!

The seventh grade girls started off the day on a high note.  They were led by Sydney Hammett who finished in 2nd place with a new school record time of 5:55.6.  She was joined in the medals by Fernanda Martinez in 7th place and Kaylynn Melton in 9th.  Following them across the finish line was Abbi Everman in 15th, Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 18th, Maddy Riggs in 20th, Morgan Brewer in 21st, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 23rd, Karishma Campos in 28th, and Malerie Pyle in 29th.  The 7th grade girls were the team runner up.

The seventh grade boys were led by Hector Guevara in 6th place, who was joined in medals by Sergio Velazquez in 8th, and Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez in 10th.  He was followed by Noah Wise 11th, Dany Vite in 12th, Jacob Rhoades in 14th, Caden Posa in 19th, Brady Hilton in 22nd, Matthew McMillian in 24th, Trent Howland in 26th, and Kaylven Lokaphone in 28th.  The 7th grade boys brought home their first team victory as well!

In the 8th grade girls race Angelica Gutierrez was the top finisher in 5th place, also setting a new school record with a time of 14:15.21.  She was joined in medals by Sarah Mayeske who was 8th and was only 4 seconds behind the previous school record.  Jennifer Hernandez-Sanchez rounded out the girls team with a finish in 18th place.

In the 8th grade boys race Jack Lott was the top finisher bringing home the 2nd place medal by edging Quenton Walion out at the line.  Quenton finished in 3rd, and was joined in medals by Owen Massaro who was 9th.  Isaac Hopkins finished in 12th, Teddy Gilmore in 17th, Grant Misse in 18th, Joe Cepeda in 29th, Josh Mayfield in 33rd, and Zach Barnett in 34th.  The boys brought home their 4th team title of the season.

Congratulations are in order for the amazing performances that these athletes turned in today.  All the hard work they have been putting in this season is starting to be shown not only in the strategic races they run, but also in all the improved times they turned in!  The Huskies will travel to Eudora next Thursday, October 6th, to wrap up their season with an invitational/league meet.

Information for XC at Celebration on 9/28

Pioneer Ridge Middle School Cross Country Invitational - 2016


We are pleased to have your teams participating in our cross country invitational. The meet will be held on Wednesday, September 28th , 2016 at 4:00 p.m.


The meet will be held at the Celebration Park Cross Country Course, just north of Pioneer Ridge
Middle School (16200 Kill Creek Rd.) in Gardner. The course has a variety of surfaces involved in
it including concrete, asphalt, dirt and grass. Spiked shoes are prohibited. Coaches please
review KSHSAA adornment rules regarding hair, necklaces, and jewelry. KSHSAA rules will be
enforced. There will not be a concession stand at the meet.


Please park team buses on the north part of the Pioneer Ridge parking lot adjacent to the
football field since parking at Celebration Park is limited.


We will run each grade level and gender race separately. There will be a total of four different
races (7th grade girls, 7th grade boys, 8th grade girls, 8th grade boys).


Medals will be awarded to the top ten runners in each division. Official time results will be sent out via email after the race (Thursday, Sept. 29th ) to the participating schools.


7th graders will run 1 mile. 8th graders will run 2 miles.


Time Schedule:
7 th grade girls – 4:00 p.m. (1 mile)
7 th grade boys ~4:15 p.m. (1 mile)
8 th grade girls ~4:35 p.m. (2 miles)
8 th grade boys ~4:55 p.m. (2 miles)

Press Release-Ottawa

The Huskies traveled down I-35 Saturday to do battle with the hills. It was a tough day with the sun blazing down and the hills tower above!  The Huskies didn't back down and attacked each hill with determination and heart.  In the end they brought home 19 medals, with 2 division runners-up and one team championship.

The 7th grade girls were led by Sydney Hammett who finished in 2nd place.  Also getting medals were Fernanda Martinez in 10th, Kaylynn Melton in 12th, Abbi Everman in 14th, Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 16th, Maddy Riggs in 18th, and Morgan Brewer in 19th.  Rounding out performances for the day were Ale Perez in 23rd, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 24th, Karishma Campos in 29th, and Malerie Pyle in 30th.  The girls team finished in 2nd place overall.

The 7th grade boys were led by Sergio Velazquez in 8th.  he was joined in medals by Matthew McMillian in 15th, Jacob Rhoades in 18th, and Dany Vite in 20th.  He was followed by Brady Hilton in 25th, and Trent Howland in in 35th.  The boys finished 4th as a team.

For the 8th grade girls, both that ran were able to nab medals.  Angelica Gutierrez was through the chute in 7th place and Sarah Mayeske was the 10th place medalist.

In the 8th grade boys race Quenton Walion was the 2nd place finisher.  He was joined in the medals by Jack Lott in 5th, Owen Massaro in 6th, Teddy Gilmore in 13th, Isaac Hopkins in 16th, and Grant Misse, getting the last medal, in 20th.  Finishing in 35th was Josh Mayfield.  The boys were team champions defeating the next closest team, Wheatridge 37 to 59.

The Huskies will spend the next few days recovering from this brutal course and training in preparation for their next meet Wednesday at Celebration Park.  We hope to see you all there!

Ottaw Information


The Ottawa Middle School Cross Country Meet is Saturday, September 24th at the high school’s course located on Eisenhower Rd. just south (1/2 mile ) of I-35.  Just keep going on the gravel road straight south till you see the course on the left.  Parking is available on Eisenhower Rd west of the course and Kingman Rd. north of the course.  Buses should park south of the hill on Eisenhower Rd.  There will be directional signs.

PLEASE DIRECT YOUR TEAM AND FANS TO AVOID THE QUARRY ON THE EAST SIDE!!!!!

The race schedule is as follows:

7th Grade Girls and Boys is at 11:00

8th Grade Girls and Boys is as soon as 7th grade concludes

 WE WILL START EARLIER THAN 11:00 IF THE HIGH SCHOOL RACES FINISH EARLY.

Medals will be awarded at the finish line to the top 20 in each division. We have six teams running this year.  

PLEASE ASK YOUR RUNNERS TO TELL THEIR FAMILIES – PETS SHOULD NOT BE



More "Fun" information from Spring Hill

First off we had a few Huskies run and dominate the fun run, congrats to them!  Secondly, we brought home 9 of the 40 medals last night, and 10 of the 32 that participated had personal best times of the season!  Way to go runners!

Press release Spring Hill

The Huskies traveled to Spring Hill on Thursday for their meet.  It was another hot day out there, but the Huskies showed stellar grit and determination!  They came home with two individual championships and one team championship.

The 7th grade girls were led by Sydney Hammet who brought home the gold medal.  Fernanda Martinez brought home the 6th place medal and Kaylynn Melton grabbed the 7th place medal.  Kelsey Morales-Macedo missed medals by 1 finishing in 11th.  She was followed over the finish line by Abbi Everman in 13th, Maddy Riggs in 15th, Morgan Brewer in 17th, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 19th, Ale Perez in 20th, Karishma Campos in 23rd, and Malerie Pyle in 24th.  The girls team finished in second place.

Hector Guevara brought home the 7th place medal for the 7th grade boys.  Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez finished in 11th, missing medals by 1.  Following him were Sergio Velazquez, Jacob Rhoades in 20th, Caden Posa in 23rd, Noah Wise in 25th, Matthew McMillian in 26th, Dany Vite in 27th, Brady Hilton in 30th, Kalven Lokaphone in 31st, and Trent Howland in 40th.  The boys team finished in 4th place.

For the 8th grade girls Angelica Gutierrez finished in the medals at 9th place.  Sarah Mayeske finished 13th and Jennifer Hernandez-Sanchez finished in 20th.

Wrapping up the day was the 8th grade boys  They nabbed four of the ten medals given.  Quenton Walion brought home the gold medal finishing in first place.  He was followed by Jack Lott in 4th, Owen Massaro in 6th, and Isaac Hopkins in 7th.  Teddy Gilmore finished in 14th, Grant Misse in 22nd, Joey Cepeda in 30th, and Josh Mayfield in 32nd place.  The boys also grabbed the team title, defeating the next closest team 32 to 56!

It was a great day, loaded with great performances!  They will be back in action Saturday at Ottawa on a quest to conquer the hills!

Information for Thursday at Spring Hill


Spring Hill CC Invitational September 22th, 2016

 



  1.  The meet will be held at SHMS North Campus, 300 E South Street, Spring Hill, Ks 66083.  Our course has been designed in a 1-mile loop with a slight adjustment as the 8th grade will run the loop twice to complete a 2-mile run.  The course is located just north of the parking lot and baseball field.
  2. Parking – SHMS North will dismiss at 3:20pm.  Teams can be dropped off by 3:10pm at the North parking lot prior to our student dismissal.  Bus parking is available at SHMS South, 301 E South Street.  Please park in the southeast corner of the lot.  There will be limited parking for spectators at the SHMS North lot, overflow parking is across the street at SHMS South. 
  3. There will be a concession stand sponsored by our PTO and restrooms available near the course.
  4. Race schedule and awards:

Grades 4th-6th Fun Run – 3:45pm

7th girls – 4pm (1-mile)

7th boys – 4:15pm (1-mile)

8th girls – 4:30 pm (2-mile)

8th boys- 4:50pm (2-mile)

  • Race times are approximate and could start prior to the time listed.
Individual medals will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in each of the four divisions.  Medals will be given to runners after exiting the chute.

Press Release for Wyandotte County Invitational

The Huskies traveled to Wyandotte County Park Saturday for their 3rd outing of the season. It was a hot and muddy day, but despite the conditions the Huskies still brought home some hardware!



For the 7th grade girls Sydney Hammett was the meet winner!  She was followed by teammates Fernanda Martinez in 22nd, Kaylynn Melton in 27th, Abbi Everman in 39th, Maddy Riggs in 44th, Kelsye Morales-Macedo in 52nd, Morgan Brewer in 53rd, Ale Perez in 66th, Malerie Pyle in 75th, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 77th, and Karishma Campos in 78th.  The ladies finished 4th as a team.



For the 7th grade boys top finisher was Hector Guevara in 23rd.  He was followed by Sergio Velazquez in 37th, Dany Vite in 38th, Noah Wise in 41st, Caden Posa in 52nd, Matthew McMillian in 65th, Brady Hilton in 66th, and Trent Howland in 95th.  The boys finished 7th as a team.



Both 8th grade girls that ran finished in the medals.  Angelica Gutierrez was through the chute in 8th place and Sarah Mayeske came through the chute in 13th place!

In the 8th grade boys race Quenton Walion was top finisher bringing in the 3rd place medal.  He was joined in medals by Jack Lott in 5th and Owen Massaro in 13th.  They were followed in by teammates Teddy Gilmore in 36th, Grant Misse in 38th, Isaac Hopkins in 46th, Joey Cepada in 79th,


Josh Mayfield in 90th, and Jacob Riggs in 94.  The boys team finished 3rd as a team behind Mill Creek and Seaman.



The Huskies will get a few days reprieve before returning to action Thursday at Spring Hill.
