Press release Spring Hill

The Huskies traveled to Spring Hill on Thursday for their meet.  It was another hot day out there, but the Huskies showed stellar grit and determination!  They came home with two individual championships and one team championship.

The 7th grade girls were led by Sydney Hammet who brought home the gold medal.  Fernanda Martinez brought home the 6th place medal and Kaylynn Melton grabbed the 7th place medal.  Kelsey Morales-Macedo missed medals by 1 finishing in 11th.  She was followed over the finish line by Abbi Everman in 13th, Maddy Riggs in 15th, Morgan Brewer in 17th, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 19th, Ale Perez in 20th, Karishma Campos in 23rd, and Malerie Pyle in 24th.  The girls team finished in second place.

Hector Guevara brought home the 7th place medal for the 7th grade boys.  Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez finished in 11th, missing medals by 1.  Following him were Sergio Velazquez, Jacob Rhoades in 20th, Caden Posa in 23rd, Noah Wise in 25th, Matthew McMillian in 26th, Dany Vite in 27th, Brady Hilton in 30th, Kalven Lokaphone in 31st, and Trent Howland in 40th.  The boys team finished in 4th place.

For the 8th grade girls Angelica Gutierrez finished in the medals at 9th place.  Sarah Mayeske finished 13th and Jennifer Hernandez-Sanchez finished in 20th.

Wrapping up the day was the 8th grade boys  They nabbed four of the ten medals given.  Quenton Walion brought home the gold medal finishing in first place.  He was followed by Jack Lott in 4th, Owen Massaro in 6th, and Isaac Hopkins in 7th.  Teddy Gilmore finished in 14th, Grant Misse in 22nd, Joey Cepeda in 30th, and Josh Mayfield in 32nd place.  The boys also grabbed the team title, defeating the next closest team 32 to 56!

It was a great day, loaded with great performances!  They will be back in action Saturday at Ottawa on a quest to conquer the hills!
