Ottawa Press Release

The Huskies took to the hills of Ottawa Saturday, hills so big they each have their own name. While no PR's were achieved, kids ran some of the best races of the season.  We did manage to bring home 2 individuals champions, 1 team champion, and one team runner-up.

The 7th grade girls brought home 3 medals.  Haylee Weese was 5th, Caroline Clarke 13th, and Ava Yager was 13th.  Aaliyah Kerby was close to medals finishing 25th and Marissa Wise ran a strong race, finishing 44th.  The girls were 3rd as a team.

The 7th grade boys ran an outstanding race, bringing home the team championship.  Gilan Brown won the race and was followed closely through the chute by Parker Walion in 2nd.  Jackson Rhea finished 8th, Brooklyn Waswa was 11th, and Avonte Peppers was 15th.  Finishing out of medals but helping bring home the team championship were Chase Andersen in 30th, Jack Lloyd in 33rd, and Connor Peterson in 34th.

The 8th grade girls brought home medals for Brenley Cunningham in 7th, Trinity Hudson in 12th, and Dakota Konzem in 16th.  Elizabeth Fiedler finished just out of medals in 25th.

The 8th grade boys tied with Paola for team points, but when it went to the tie breaker they brought home 2nd as a team.  Landon Comstock was the meet champion.  Also grabbing medals were Carter Beasley in 4th, Ben Pahls in 13th, Diego Erives in 16th, Cole Darby in 17th, and Nate Wilson in 20th.  Eric Massaro narrowly missed medals finishing 22nd.  He was followed in by teammates Chris Lewis in 24th, Nick Johnson in 26th, Jason Pitts in 31st, and Aidan Harris in 37th.

The Huskies travel across town Wednesay to compete at Celebration Park.
