Camp Chippewa press release

The Huskies traveled to Camp Chippewa Thursday to do battle with their first real taste of hills, as well as teammates. For the first time this season 7th and 8th grade girls were competing against one another, as were the boys.  They brought home some serious hardware.  The girls nabbed 6 of the 15 medals and the boys 10 of the 30.  There was also another record that fell to some superior running.

For the girls medalists were Brenley Cunningham in 8th, Trinity Hudson in 9th, Haylee Weese in 11th, Caroline Clark in 12th, and Dakota Konzem in 15th.  Rounding out awesome team performances were Ava Yager in 18th, Elizabeth Fiedler in 25th, Aaliyah Kerby in 27th, and Marissa Wise in 33rd.

For the boys medalists were Gilan Brown in 2nd, Landon Comstock in 3rd, Parker Walion in 4th, Carter Beasley in 8th, Ben Pahls in 11th, Jackson Rhea in 12th, Cole Darby in 25th, Diego Erives in 26th, Aleko Khundadze in 27th, and Nate Wilson in 28th.  Missing medals by 1 spot, Eric Massaro was 31st.  The rest of the field of finishers were Chris Lewis in 41st, Jason Pitts in 42nd, Avonte Peppers in 43rd, Brooklyn Waswa in 50th, Chase Andersen in 55th, Nick Johnson in 57th, Aidan Harris in 58th, Jack Lloyd in 59th, Connor Peterson in 65th, Atticus Adams in 66th, and Laden Henke in 67th.

Gilan Brown broke his own 2 mile record, setting the new mark at 12:16.

The Huskies travel to Ottawa Saturday for the biggest hills of the season.
