Press release Bonner Springs

The Huskies traveled to Wyandotte County Park on Saturday for their 3rd meet.  It was another gorgeous day for the runners and many took advantage by running personal best times, as well as having 4 boys break the school record!

For the 7th grade girls Kyleigh Bobki let the way running just 9 seconds off the school records and taking 57th place.  Sadie Chorny was next in at 102nd place and Audra Lasley finished in 125th place.

The 7th grade boys continued to dominate the course.  The took first place at the meet out of 14 teams and all 4 that brought home medals broke the school record!  Top finisher and new school record holder, bringing home 6th place was Isaac Hopkins in a time of 5:52.37.  He was followed by teammates Wrenner Brown in 11th, Caleb Calvin in 12th, and Grant Misse in 14th.  Just missing medals but running stellar races were Zach Barnett in 20th and Owen Massaro in 23rd.  Finishing 46th was Quenton Walion followed by Domnic Roland in 56th, Landon Turner in 86th, Aiden Dove in 96th, Josh Yates in 117th, Jacob Riggs in 119th, and Austin Smith in 120th.  To make their feats even more impressive, this was in a field of 146 runners and all boys finished under the 7:30 mark!

The 8th grade girls were let by Hanna Thomas in 49th.  She was followed by Elizabeth Guevara in 52nd, and Nayeli Campos in 63rd.  

The 8th grade boys took on a tough field as well with Andres Erives being the only 8th grader to improve his time and finish in 62nd.  Isaach Chorny was 80th and Lathan Clark was 82nd. 

The Huskies travel to Spring Hill on Thursday for more action.  It is highly anticipated by all and more amazing performances are anticipated.
