Press release Spring Hill

The Huskies traveled to Spring Hill Thursday to do battle with the competition and the heat.  While both were tough they came ready to show what they were made of.

The 7th grade girls started off with a bang.  Bella Lott ran to a 2nd place finish.  She was joined in the medals by Brenley Cunningham in 3rd place!  Following them through the chute were Trinity Hudson in 13th, Stephanie Gonzalez in 21st, and Elizabeth Fielder in 32nd.  The girls ran their way to a 3rd place finish as a team.

Next to start were the 7th grade boys.  Landon Comstock finished the race in 5th place, Ben Pahls in 6th, and Carter Beasley in 10th.  Finishing behind them were Cole Darby in 21st, Nate Wilson in 22nd, Nick Johnson in 25th, Nate DeForest in 30th, Diego Erives in 31st, Eric Massaro in 34th, Jason Pitts in 36th, and Bryson Robertson in 41st.  The boys also brought home a 3rd place team finish.

The 8th grade girls charged off the line. Sydney Hammett took the lead from the gun and never looked back. She was the meet champion in a new school record time of 13:40.84.  She was joined in the medals by Kaylynn Melton who finished 10th.  Abby Everman missed medals by 1 spot, finishing 11th.  Following her were Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 14th, Maddy Riggs in 16th, Malerie Pyle in 20th, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 22nd, Karishma Campos in 24th, and Ale Perez in 25th.   The ladies finished in 2nd place.

The 8th grade boys also went out to take care of business.  Sergio Velazquez fought a hard battle but was 2nd place to the line.  He was joined in medlas by Dector Guevara in 5th, Gauge Essex in 6th, Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez in 7th, and Jacob Rhoades in 10th.  Dany Vite finished 14th, Matthew McMillian 16th, Jacob Russell 17th, Manny Nwofor in 18th, Noah Wise in 20th, Ian Meyer in 22nd, Trent Howland in 25th, and Shane Hutchison in 29th.  They boys were edged by Pioneer Ridge to finish 2nd as a team.

The Huskies have a short rest and are back in action on Saturday at Ottawa.
