Ottawa Press Release

The Huskies took to the hills of Ottawa on Saturday.  It was the toughest race to date, but their performances reflected that they are just as tough as a few big hills!  They managed to bring home 21 medals for their efforts!

The 7th grade girls started off the day.  Top finisher was Bella Lott in 3rd.  She was joined in medals by Brenley Cunningham in 5th, Trinity Hudson in 16th, and Stephanie Gonzalez in 20th.  Elizabeth Fielder rounded out the team's performers, finishing in 36th.  The girls finished 4th as a team.

Up next were the 7th grade boys.  Top finisher was Landon Comstock in 5th place.  He was joined in medals by Cole Darby in 14th, and Nate Wilson in 19th.  Rounding out the teams performance were Diego Erives in 27th, Justin Snyder in 29th, Eric Massaro in 31st, Nate DeForest in 35th, and Bryson Robertson in 39th.  The boys team also finished in 4th place.

The 8th grade girls cleaned up the medals in their division.  Kaylynn Melton was top finisher in 7th place.  She was joined in medals by Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 10th, Maddy Riggs in 12th, Abby Everman in 15th, and Malerie Pyle in 17th.  Just missing out on medals were Lisa Morales-Macedo in 23rd, Ale Perez in 25th, and Karishma Campos in 26th.  The girls finished 3rd as a team.

The 8th grades boys had a battle on their hands for the top team spot with Pioneer Ridge. In the end they were edged by 1 point and finished in 2nd place as a team.  Sergio Velazquez was the meet champion and Gauge Essex a close runner up in 2nd place.  They were joined in medals by Hector Guevara in 6th, Jacob Rhoades in 9th, Dany Vite in 10th, Matthew McMillian in 14th, Jacob Russell in 15th, Trent Howland in 17th, and Ian Meyer in 20th.  Just missing out on medals was Shane Hutchison in 27th.

The Huskies have some much deserved rest coming up, but Wednesday will be back in action at Celebration Park.
