The Huskies traveled to Baldwin early Saturday morning for their meet. It was a very cool fall morning, perfect conditions for running! The Huskies did not disappoint. Evie Watkins set a new 7th grade girls record for the 2 mile, running a 14:27.81 and Robert Falkner set a new mile record for the 7th grade boys running a 5:35.66.
For the mile race for the girls, Ellie Rhea was 14th and Kylee Melton 15th, each earning a medal. They were followed through the chute by Maggie Sloss in 33rd, Lauren Deer in 34th, Karla Salas in 39th, Meredith Lewis in 47th, Sofia Tortolero in 50th, Dani King in 82nd, and Janet Nwofor in 83rd. The girls brought home a 4th place team finish.
For the boys mile race Robert Falkner was 3rd. He was followed by Nathan Smith 31st, Gage Davis in 45th, Lukas Fitzpatrick in 57th, Spencer Wu in 58th, Jackson Myers in 60th, and Logan Evers in 62nd. The team finished 7th overall.
For the girls 2 mile Evie Watkins was 16th, missing medals by 1, Libby Fry 38th, Caroline Clarke was 40th, and Ava Yager 44th.
For the boys 2 mile Gilan Brown was 4th and Parker Walion 10th, each bringing home a medal. They were followed by Jackson Rhea in 33rd, Seth Greener in 42nd, Asher Bowyer in 51st, Connor Postel in 52nd, Benton Eimers in 66th, Carson Hilton in 67th, Abenezer Worku in 83rd, Josh Davila in 87th, Chase Andersen in 107th, and Jack Lloyd in 116th. The boys brought home a 4th place team finish.
The Huskies will wrap their season up on Thursday at Eudora. This meet will also serve as the league meet.
