The Huskies hosted their very first cross country meet since the school's inception in 2014. It was a hot day but the Husky running was even hotter! The Huskies brought home 11 medals as a team, as well as one very dominating performance by the 8th grade boys who ran away with the team title!
The 7th grade girls put 3 in the medals again. Bella Lott was the top finisher, bringing home the 6th place medal. Brenley Cunningham finished 8th for a medal and Trinity Hudson 15th. Stephanie Gonzalez was just out of medals finishing in 21st.
They 7th grade boys were led by Carter Beasley who finished in the medals running to a 12th place finish. Also grabbing a medal with a solid finish was Ben Pahls in 14th. Nate Wilson was the next Husky through in 34th place followed by Cole Darby in 38th, Nick Johnson in 44th, Eric Massaro in 45th, Jason Pitts in 47th, Nate DeForest in 48th, and Bryson Robertson in 55th.
The 8th grade girls were led by Kaylynn Melton in 19th. She was followed by Maddy Riggs in 20th, Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 21st, Abby Everman in 23rd, Malerie Pyle in 29th, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 31st, and Karishma Campos in 32nd.
The 8th grade boys came prepared to defend their home turf and it showed. They brought home 6 of the medals. The medalists were Sergio Velazquez in 3rd, Gauge Essex in 5th, Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez in 6th, Hector Guevara in 7th, Jacob Rhoades in 9th, and Dany Vite in 15th. Following them through the finish chute were Noah Wise in 21st, Matthew McMillian in 22nd, Trent Howland in 27th, Ian Meyer in 32nd, Octavius Humphrey in 34th, and Shane Hutchison in 35th. The boys finished ahead of Mill Creek by 6 points to take the team championship.
I think Bella got 5th at Trailridge, anyway that is what the results say. Let us know if we need to exchange a medal, she also has 5th place medal. Thanks
