The Huskies traveled across town to Celebration Park for the 2nd time this season. They brought home some hardware, a school record, and 31 PRs!
The 7th grade girls were the first race. They were determined and it showed. Bella Lott was the silver medalists. She was joined in medals by Brenley Cunningham in 4th. Trinity Hudson finished 11th (missing medals by 1 spot), Stephanie Gonzalez in 24th, and Elizabeth Fielder in 33rd. The girls team was 4th.
After a false start the 7th grade boys got out to a hot start. Landon Comstock finished 4th, and Carter Beasley in 6th. Finishing outside of medals in 12th was Ben Pahls, Nate Wilson in 14th, Cole Darby in 17th, Justin Synder in 28th, Eric Massaro in 30th, Diego Erives in 32nd, Nate DeForest in 33rd, and Bryson Robertson in 40th. The boys team were runners up to Spring Hill.
The 8th grade girls ran absolutely beautifully. Sydney Hammett ran to a gold place finish with a new school record time of 12:33.85. Kaylynn Melton was 12th, Kelsey Morales-Macedo was 15th, Maddy Riggs 16th, Abby Everman 18th, Lisa Morales-Macedo 22nd, Malerie Pyle 23rd, Karishma Campos 25th, and Ale Perez in 26th. The girls team finished in 2nd place behind Spring Hill.
The last race was also exciting. TRMS and PRMS ran away with the all the medals! Finishing in medals for the Huskies were Sergio Velazquez in 2nd, Hector Guevara in 5th, Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez in 7th, Jacob Rhoades in 9th, and Gauge Essex in 10th. Dany Vite missed medals by 1 spot finishing 11th. He was followed closely by Noah Wise in 12th, Manny Nwofor in 14th, Matthew McMillian in 17th, Jacob Russel in 21st, Trent Howland in 22nd, and Ian Meyer in 23rd. The boys were again edged in the team competition by PRMS, but still brought home a 2nd place team finish.
