Invitational and league cross country information for Eudora

What: EMS Cross Country Invitational & Frontier League Meet

When: Thursday, October 7, 2021

Where: Eudora Middle School


Fun run: there will be a 1mile race at 5:30 for any K-8 non-cross country runners.  Other schools are invited to participate.  Top 3 boys & 3 girls medal.


Schedule:

Coaches Meeting 3:35 On the patio (bring your scratches)

7th Grade Girls 4:00 1 Mile

7th Grade Boys 4:15 1 Mile

8th Grade Girls 4:30 2 Mile

8th Grade Boys 5:00 2 Mile

Fun Run, K-8 non-XC runners 5:30 1 Mile

Awards         5:45


All races will run ahead of schedule if possible.


Inclement weather schedule:

7th Grade Girls & Boys 4:00 1 Mile

8th Grade Girls & Boys 4:15 2 Mile

Fun Run                 4:50 1 Mile  

(This race could be cancelled if we need to get the 7-8 races done)


Restrooms: Located at the baseball/softball complex or inside EMS using the backside commons door.  Enter through the patio doors. NO SPIKES IN THE BUILDINGS.


Medals for the Invitational: Medals will be awarded after the races are completed at awards ceremony located by softball field. (Top 15 in 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B receive medals).


League medals: League medals and ribbons will be presented to the top 10 runners in 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B 

(top 3 receive medals, 4th-10th receive ribbons).

Press release Ottawa

The Huskies took to the hills of Ottawa Saturday. Despite the tough course they ran hard. The seventh grade girls had 2 medalists, Libbey Gann in 8th and Cheyenne Hudgins 10th. Lila Cramer missed medals but finished 22nd. Josh Booton ran an amazing race, grabbing the 5th place medal. Jack Fitzpatrick missed medals by 1 finishing 16th. Chase Rhea finished 20th and Eli Pahls was 33rd. The 8th grade girls were led by Olivia Walion taking 9th and Julia Pemberton grabbed the last medal, finishing 15th. Briley Roberts was 23rd, Ashland Huff was 26th, Vanessa Perrz was 32nd, Hollie McNaney was 35th, and Destiny Mitchell was 37th. the Huskies have a week off next week to prep for their final meet at Eudora on the 7th of October.

Ottawa meet information

The bus departs TRMS at 9:30, be here by 9:20. Cross Country Participants, The Ottawa Middle School Cross Country Meet is Saturday, September 25th at the high school’s course located on Eisenhower Rd. just south (1/2 mile ) of I-35. Just keep going on the gravel road straight south till you see the course on the left. Parking is available on Eisenhower Rd west of the course and Kingman Rd. north of the course. Buses should park south of the hill on Eisenhower Rd. There will be directional signs. PLEASE DIRECT YOUR TEAM AND FANS TO AVOID THE QUARRY ON THE EAST SIDE. PLEASE ASK YOUR RUNNERS TO TELL THEIR FAMILIES – PETS SHOULD NOT BE BROUGHT TO THE COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our races follow the high school races. We will run ahead of schedule if possible. All times are approximate. The race schedule is as follows: 7th Grade Girls 11:00 7th Grade Boys 11:20 8th Grade Girls 11:40 8th Grade Boys 12:00 We are giving medals to the top 15 in each race. Medals will be given at the end in the chute.

Press release for West Franklin meet at Camp Chippewa

The Huskies traveled to Camp Chippewa Thursday for their race. The weather was amazing and so were the performances. There was even a new school record set! The girls all raced together and 5 brought home medals. Poppie Brown was 5th, Olivia Walion 7th, Libby Gann 10th, ,Cheyenne Hudgins 11th, and Natalie Roberts 20th. Briley Roberts was 24th, Julia Pemberton 25th, Lila Cramer 28th, Bre Roberts 32nd, Vanessa Perez 33rd, Hollie McNaney 35th, and Destiny Mitchell 38th. Like the girls, the boys all ran together. The lone medal was claimed by Jaxson Seyfert in 6th. Jack Fitzpatrcik was 25th, Joshua Booton 29th, Chase Rhea 33rd, Owen Smalley 43rd and Eli Pahls 48th. Poppie Brown set a new 7th grade girls record for a 2 mile course running 14:16 and breaking the previous record of 14:27. Those running personal best times were: Poppie Brown, Jack Fitzpatrick, Hollie McNaney, Bre Roberts, Briley Roberts, Owen Smalley, and Olivia Walion
