It's getting closer
Husky runners as we near the season I encourage you to go get your paperwork taken care of! You must have your physical paperwork filled out and signed, a concussion form, and an insurance waiver. All can be found here: http://www.usd231.com/TRMS/6052-Untitled.html. If you do not have access to a printer that packet can also be picked up in the front office! The office hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Eudora and League Results
The Huskies traveled to Eudora to finish up their season. They ran hard and left it all on the course. It was, yet another, amazing day! They walked away with nine individual medals and seven league medals. The seventh grade girls were third in league as a team, the seventh grade boys were runners up for the meet and league, and the eighth grade boys were both meet and league champions!
The 7th grade girls were led by Fernanda Martinez who finished in 14th overall and 10th in league, Kaylynn Melton took the 14th place medal but finished 1 out of league awards at 11th. They were followed by Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 29th (19th league), Averie Tasker in 31st (21st in league), Abbi Everman in 34th (23rd in league), Maddy Riggs in 36th (24th in league), Morgan Brewer in 37th (25th in league), Lisa Morales-Macedo in 48th (30th in league), Ale Perez in 52nd (32nd in league), Karishma Campos in 57th (37th in league), and Malerie Pyle in 58th (38th in league).
The 7th grade boys were led by Hector Guevara in 10th (6th in league), Noah Wise was 14th overall (10th in league), and Sergio Velazquez in 15th who missed league medals by 1 spot finishing 11th. Following them through were Gustavo Hernandez-Sanchez in 25th (17th in league), Dany Vite in 31st (22nd in league), Jacob Rhoades in 35th (24th in league), Matthew McMillian in 43rd (29th in league), Brady Hilton in 47th (32nd in league), Trent Howland in 56th (38th in league), and Kalven Lokaphone in 68th (42nd in league).
The 8th grade girls were led by Angelica Gutierrez who finished just out of individual medals in 16th, but brought home the 10th place league award. She was followed by Sarah Mayeske in 30th (20th in league) and Jennifer Hernandez-Sanchez who was 47th (32nd in league).
The 8th grade boys were led by Quenton Walion in 2nd individually and in league, narrowly missing being the league and individual champion (by 1 second). He was joined in medals by Jack Lott in 8th for both individuals and league and Owen Massaro in 9th both individually and in league. Isaac Hopkins missed individual medals by 1 finishing in 16th and 15th in league. He was followed by Teddy Gilmore in 21st (18th for league), Grant Misse in 33rd (30th for league), Josh Mayfield in 54th (43rd in league), Joey Cepeda in 55th (44th in league), and Zach Barnett in 68th (54th in league).
After a successful season it is hard to believe that we are already at the end! It has been such a joy to watch these kids grow and improve. We wish them the best of luck!

Eudora and League Information
EMS Cross Country Invitational & Frontier League Meet
When: Thursday, October 6, 2016
Where: Eudora Middle School
Parking: Eudora has a home middle school football game this day and it will be played at the EMS field, so it is going to be a busy area.
Fun run: there will be a 1 mile race at 5:30 for any K-8 non-cross country runners. Other schools are invited to participate. Top 3 boys & 3 girls medal.
Schedule:
7th Grade Girls 4:00 1 Mile
7th Grade Boys 4:15 1 Mile
8th Grade Girls 4:30 2 Mile
8th Grade Boys 5:00 2 Mile
Fun Run, K-8 non-XC runners 5:30 1 Mile
Frontier League awards presents 5:45
All races will run ahead of schedule if possible.
Inclement weather schedule:
7th Grade Girls & Boys 4:00 1 Mile
8th Grade Girls & Boys 4:15 2 Mile
Fun Run 4:50 1 Mile (This race could be cancelled if we need to get the 7-8 races done)
Restrooms: Located at the baseball/softball complex or inside EMS using the backside commons door.
Medals for the Invitational: Will be handed out in the chute as runners finish (top 15 in 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B receive medals).
League medals: League medals and ribbons will be presented to the top 10 runners in 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B (top 3 receive medals, 4th-10th receive ribbons).

Press Release PRMS Invitational
The Huskies traveled to Celebration Park on Wednesday evening to take to the course. It was a perfect day for running, with a cool temperature and slight breeze. The Huskies toed the line and went to battle. They brought home 32 new personal records as a team, as well as 2 new school records and not 1, but 2 team champions!
The seventh grade girls started off the day on a high note. They were led by Sydney Hammett who finished in 2nd place with a new school record time of 5:55.6. She was joined in the medals by Fernanda Martinez in 7th place and Kaylynn Melton in 9th. Following them across the finish line was Abbi Everman in 15th, Kelsey Morales-Macedo in 18th, Maddy Riggs in 20th, Morgan Brewer in 21st, Lisa Morales-Macedo in 23rd, Karishma Campos in 28th, and Malerie Pyle in 29th. The 7th grade girls were the team runner up.

Quenton finished in 3rd, and was joined in medals by Owen Massaro who was 9th. Isaac Hopkins finished in 12th, Teddy Gilmore in 17th, Grant Misse in 18th, Joe Cepeda in 29th, Josh Mayfield in 33rd, and Zach Barnett in 34th. The boys brought home their 4th team title of the season.
Congratulations are in order for the amazing performances that these athletes turned in today. All the hard work they have been putting in this season is starting to be shown not only in the strategic races they run, but also in all the improved times they turned in! The Huskies will travel to Eudora next Thursday, October 6th, to wrap up their season with an invitational/league meet.

Information for XC at Celebration on 9/28
Pioneer Ridge Middle School Cross Country Invitational - 2016
We are pleased to have your teams participating in our cross country invitational. The meet will be held on Wednesday, September 28th , 2016 at 4:00 p.m.
The meet will be held at the Celebration Park Cross Country Course, just north of Pioneer Ridge
Middle School (16200 Kill Creek Rd.) in Gardner. The course has a variety of surfaces involved in
it including concrete, asphalt, dirt and grass. Spiked shoes are prohibited. Coaches please
review KSHSAA adornment rules regarding hair, necklaces, and jewelry. KSHSAA rules will be
enforced. There will not be a concession stand at the meet.
Please park team buses on the north part of the Pioneer Ridge parking lot adjacent to the
football field since parking at Celebration Park is limited.
We will run each grade level and gender race separately. There will be a total of four different
races (7th grade girls, 7th grade boys, 8th grade girls, 8th grade boys).
Medals will be awarded to the top ten runners in each division. Official time results will be sent out via email after the race (Thursday, Sept. 29th ) to the participating schools.
7th graders will run 1 mile. 8th graders will run 2 miles.
