TRMS meet information

Welcome to Trail Ridge Middle School’s Cross Country Meet!
Date :  September 21st  - 10 AM start 
Location:  Trail Ridge Middle School- 495 East Grand Street
ParkingBuses in lot between schools (west lot) - Parents and fans TRMS east parking lot.  (we will close Grand Star lot for the morning.
Time Schedule:  (Please note that times are approximate)
7th girls 10 AM (1 mile)
7th boys 10:15  (1 Mile) following girls’ conclusion
8th girls 10:30 (2 miles) following 7th grade boys’ conclusion
8th boys 11:00 (2 miles) following 8th grade girls’ conclusion
Races:  7th graders will be running 1 mile and 8th graders will be running 2 miles.  The finish line for both races will be at the same location – Finish line of the track.  Please see race maps included in this packet. Additional race maps have been included for you to share with your athletes’ friends and family.
Course: A portion of the course will be on concrete, so spikes are not advised.  However, if you do opt to wear them then they can be no longer than 1/4” as you will be finishing on the track.
Medals: Medals will be given to the top 15 finishers at the conclusion of each race.  This will be done at the finish line, there is no medal ceremony.

Timing & Results: All times will be recorded by Black Squirrel Timing.  Results will be posted on their website at the conclusion of the meet.  http://www.blacksquirreltiming.com/

Press Release Wellsville

The Huskies traveled to Wellsville Thursday for their second race of the season.  After a short weather delay, they had the opportunity to show their stuff on the course.  It was the first time the 7th graders ran a 2 mile course, but they rose to the challenge.

For the 7th grade girls, Evie Watkins brought home with 16th place medal and Maddie Carman the 23rd place medal.  Lauren Deer was 38th, Kylee Melton 43rd, Libby Fry 44th, Maggie Sloss 65th, Karla Salas 73rd, Sofia Tortolero 74th, Meredith Lewis 76th, Dani King 92nd, and Janet Nwofor 96th.  The girls' team finished 5th overall.

The 7th grade boys were led by Robert Falkner in 11th and Asher Bowyer in 22nd.  Seth Greener was just outside of medals in 27th. He was followed by Danny Wahl in 29th, Connor Postel in 43rd, Benton Eimers in 44th, Nathan Smith in 65th, Gage Davis in 93rd, Blake Hunt in 97th, Austin Ross in 113th, Jackson Myers in 114th, Spencer Wu in 117th,  and Logan Evers in 132nd.  The boys' team finished in 4th. 

For 8th grade girls, Caroline Clarke brought home the 16th place medal and Ava Yager finished 44th.

For 7th grade boys, Gilan Brown brought home the bronze medal. He was joined in medals by Parker Walion in 18th.  Jackson Rhea was 33rd, Carson Hilton 54th, Josh Davila in 80th, Abenezer Worku in 84th, Lukas Fitzpatrick in 99th, Atticus Adams in 100th, Chase Andersen in 112th, an Jack Lloyd in 119th. As a team, the boys took 3rd place as a team.

The Huskies get a day of rest and recuperation, then are back in action Saturday for their home meet at TRMS.

Wellsville Information

Dear Coaches & Athletic Directors:


We are pleased to have your teams participating in our Cross Country Meet on Thursday, September 19th, 2019.  The following should help you organize your trip:


1. The meet will be held on the 40 acres located on the northwest corner of Wellsville.  The course is just east of the Wellsville Elementary School at 218 Ash Street.  This year our Fun Run for Students 6th grade and below will begin at 3:45. 

2.  Bus, van, and fan parking will be very limited.  Parking for fans will be will be available in the parking lot south of the new elementary school after 3:30 pm.  The easiest parking will be located in the  student parking area north of the high school.  You will then need to walk north to 4th street, west to the end of 4th street,  then north through the gates to the running area.  Restroom facilities are located at the school.  Please ask your bus drivers and patrons to be aware of the no parking signs on 4th street.


3.  Time schedule and awards information:

Race times are approximate .  We will run ahead of schedule if possible.  If there is a problem with extreme temperatures, we may revise the schedule.

Press Release Celebration Park

The Huskies were up bright and early Saturday morning for their first meet.  They traveled across town to Celebration Park.  It was an amazing first outing for many runners, with times showing marked improvement from the beginning of the season. 

In the 7th grade girls race the Huskies were able to bring home four medals.  Evie Watkins was 7th, Libby Fry 11th, Maddie Carman 14th, and Kylee Melton 15th.  Maggie Sloss was one spot out of medals, finishing in 16th place.  Lauren Deer was 23rd, Karla Salas 32nd, Sofia Tortolero 35th, Dani King 47th, and Janet Nwofor 48th.  The girls team took 2nd place.

The 8th grade girls had a strong showing with Caroline Clark getting 12th and Ava Yager finishing one outside of medals in 16th. 

The 8th grade boys finished in 3rd as a team behind medaling performances of Gilan Brown in 3rd and Parker Walion in 4th.  Jackson Rhea was 21st, Carson Hilton in 22nd, Lukas Fitzpatrick in 39th, Josh Davila in 40th, Chase Andersen 44th, and Jack Lloyd 46th. 

The Huskies are back in action on Thursday at Wellsville.

Information for the Wheatridge meet at Celebration Park

BUS DEPARTURE: The bus departs TRMS at 7:45 AM, please be here prior to this time.  In order to be eligible to compete you must ride the bus to the meet.  If you wish to find another form of transportation home your parent/guardian must sign you out.

Celebration Park Sports Complex, 32501 159th St, Gardner, KS 66030



TIME SCHEDULE
7th Girls 9:00 a.m. (1 Mile)
7th Boys ~9:20 a.m. (1Mile)
8th Grade WMS Parent Recognition ~9:40 a.m.
8th Girls ~9:50 a.m. (2 Miles)
8th Boys ~10:20 a.m. (2 Miles)
Please note that times are approximate. The first race will start at 9am, after that
the race schedule may run ahead or behind schedule, depending on the time it takes
for each grade/gender race to finish.


RACES
7th graders will be running 1 mile and 8th graders will be running 2 miles. The finish
line for both races will be at the same location. The start positions will be close to
one another, but will follow a different route. Please see race maps included in this
packet.
