The Huskies took to the trail for their first meet of the season at Celebration Park Saturday morning competing in the Wheatridge invitational. After three weeks of hard preparation the Huskies got to see the fruits of their hard work come to life. First meet in the books!
I'm anxious for results. I'm stalking the website (http://www.blacksquirreltiming.com) for them...feel free to do the same! I will update here as soon as I have them. I couldn't be prouder of how all our Huskies showed up and ran today! You all have spoiled me (parents) with such wonderful kids to work with this season! To my runners, you all are awesome. Today was just the beginning of showing all the hard work you have been putting in. It was a little taste of what the rest of the season holds for you! Congrats on a job well done today! (If you couldn't tell from all the exclamation points, I'm pretty excited today.)

A few things for Saturday morning
If you see this before heading for the bus in the morning (that leaves at 9:00 from TRMS) you may want to consider bringing a change of footwear. You are going to be wet and muddy tomorrow! Flip flops for after you run or even different shoes and socks. Also, you may want to bring a trash bag to sit your bag in, just in case the ground or concrete area we are at is wet (I always keep a garbage bag with me for this reason)! Parents, they will be dirty! If you are signing them out you may want to consider bringing something for them to sit on when they get in the vehicle. Don't think this is a must, just a tip from a former XC runner and coach who hates wet socks and water squishing between their toes! :)
